Located just outside Edinburgh, Craigies Farm represents the pinnacle of modern Scottish farming, offering a seamless blend of agricultural and retail experiences. Managed by the Sinclair family and a dedicated team, the farm attracts 260,000 visitors annually due to its proximity to Scotland’s capital and a diverse range of attractions including a comprehensive farm shop, café, and the engaging Little Farmers adventure farm park.
Craigies Farm’s offerings begin in June with an extensive Pick Your Own (PYO) fruit selection that includes strawberries, raspberries, cherries, and more, extending into early autumn. The farm is a true field-to-fork experience, allowing visitors to engage directly with the farming process and enjoy the best of local Scottish produce.
A significant aspect of Craigies Farm is the Craigies Butcher, an artisan butchery service that prides itself on offering locally-sourced meat. With the recent relaunch of their in-house butchers counter, Craigies provides "meat within a mile," featuring pork and lamb raised directly on the farm by George Sinclair, and grass-fed Highland cattle beef from the neighboring Dalmeny Estate. This locally sourced meat, known for its excellent marbling and remarkable flavour, especially the Highland beef, offers a superb alternative to Aberdeen Angus, ensuring top-notch traceability and quality.
Previously relying on off-site butchery operations, the farm now boasts a robust in-house service that emphasizes the Sinclairs' commitment to quality and provenance. The farm shop, established in a converted barn in 1988 and expanded over the years, along with a café added in 2007, showcases the best in Scottish farming and produce, making Craigies a leading destination for those seeking an authentic modern farm experience.
