Family-run and independent, AJ’s Classic Cakes (AJ’s) is a multi-award winning Artisan Bakery specialising in gluten free and vegan cakes in a variety of flavours.
The cottage industry is based in Balsall Common village near Coventry and caters to cake lovers locally and within the West Midlands and Warwickshire areas.

It is important that a cake looks and tastes delectable – there are no half measures. AJ’s strongly believe that good quality ingredients, a well-balanced recipe and tender loving care goes into making beautiful cakes. Ingredients are an important factor so AJ's use a good quality butter, locally sourced free range eggs, full fat milk and cream, and fresh fruit and vegetables whenever possible as these add a natural sweetness and moisture to the bake.
All cakes displayed in The Shop have gone through an extensive process to ensure they look presentable and taste delicious. To this end, AJ’s have used the services of local Taste Testing Teams to ensure the Bakers high standards are met.

AJ’s Classic Cakes provide a personal service to everyone irrespective of whether the customer wishes to purchase a box of cakes from The Shop or place a bespoke order with the Baker.

2. Each cake box is gift wrapped with care and attention;
3. Your cakes are hand delivered by us to ensure the cakes arrive in good condition and at a time that is mutually convenient.
Our Services:
- Baked fresh to order – All of our cakes are baked fresh to order using quality ingredients. The Shop lists only those cakes that have been approved by the Baker and our Taste Testing Teams to ensure they meet our high standards of taste, flavour and presentation.
- Gift wrapped Cake Boxes – We gift wrap your cakes using vintage style kraft brown boxes tied with paper raffia to finish and can include a personal message handwritten on a card for the recipient.
- Doorstep Delivery – For the personal touch, the cake order is hand delivered to your doorstep by a member of the Baking Team to ensure they arrive in a good state.
- Cake Orders – We cater for all size of cake orders from a small box of cakes to a large variety of flavoured cakes to complement your fare at that special gathering.
